World Robotic Sailing Championship 2010 in Canada officially announced

June 7-10th 2010

Kingston, Ontario, Canada

Hosted by Queen’s at the Kingston Yacht Club

The World Robotic Sailing Championship (WRSC) and SailBot are international engineering design competitions that test the autonomous navigation and sailing ability of robotic sailboats.  This year, both competitions will be combined into a single competition with two classes; the SailBot Class has a 2 meter length restriction and a mandatory 50% undergraduate or high school student requirement, the Open Class has a 4 meter length restriction and is open to post-graduates, researchers and hobbyists. For a more detailed description of the rules and regulations check the competition website: www.SailBot.ca.

The International Robotic Sailing Conference will be held in parallel with the competition. The aim of the conference is to promote the dissemination of works worldwide on the various engineering challenges around the development and operation of unmanned fully autonomous sailing boats.
